I replaced the strings on my little guitar last night, and for the life of me couldn't manage to tune it. Now I'm a fairly decent guitar tuner... and I also have the tuner app on my phone for assistance. But it just refused to tune...
It's been a while since I blogged about photography...
A long time ago, I wrote about a boy with a broken arm and a lost camera. I promised to build him a camera once. I was reminded about this promise recently by him and I thought I should make him a hexomniscope pinhole camera.
I had once, a while before I met this boy with the broken arm, blogged about my first attempt at a hexomniscope pinhole. Having given up on it, I didn't even think about it till now. So I came up with a working design for my version of the 35mm hexomniscope pinhole camera :D
To believe there's something when there's clearly not. And it's all my fault. I have a terrible habit of over thinking. Why must I want more?
So many thoughts that my mind is marinating in right now...I can't really tell anyone because no one wants to know. Everyone has their plates full with their own issues that make me wonder if mine are worth considering at all.
The story started a few months ago when I wanted a new all purpose hoodie. Happened to stumble across a store called Superdry at Phoenix mall and found exactly the kinds I was looking for. As I was exploring, I saw an absolutely amazing wind cheater which I promised to buy for myself some other day. That day came recently, when I finally bought that wind cheater with a lot of zips which took a frustratingly long time to understand but once I did and wore it, looked absolutely fantastic! (And it burned a giant hole in my metaphorical pocket, but it was totally worth it)
Now, winter hasn't arrived yet but I wanted to try this wind cheater out. So I decided to ride out my mother's electric bike for a meeting wearing it. So comfortable! As I rode, my playlist switched to 'Hard row' by the Black keys. I was a woman on an electric bike riding the mean streets on Pune listening to rock music wearing a superdry jacket. I felt badass!
Why? read on... A few days ago, I saw Pacific rim. Instantly liked Charlie Hunnam and realised that I'd seen him in a show called 'Undeclared' which I would stream online before. He is quite hot, so I did a google search on him and found that Charlie Hunnam currently acts in a show called 'Sons of Anarchy' In which he rides around on a Harley. I saw the pilot episode where in one scene he rides his bike as 'Hard row' plays in the background...
Good music can turn even the most mundane mundane situations (in this case, riding an electric bike while wearing a superdry jacket) exciting!
The brick turned around and said Hey, you talking to me? His eyes were wistful when He said to the brick, 'If you were and arch would it do the trick?' The brick looked low when I passed by, I said 'hey dear brick don't be so dry' 'An arch is much too tedious So don't be flustered, You can be anything you like and you shall be plastered!' The brick said 'why?' 'Why do you want me to toil, When I can take the easier way outAnd just remain top soil...'
I went to a fancy store that sold scarves and remembered an article about turning a scarf into a nice camera strap that I had read a few years ago. Those scarves in the store were so fancy that they were expensive and we didn't buy any.
The cheaper ones weren't that great.
Once I got home, my mother gave me a bag of scarves that my father used to wear. I made two of them into camera straps.
Felt good remembering my father wearing those wonderful scarves!
The other day, a friend of mine poked me on facebook and I clicked on the notification to poke him back when I suddenly realised that facebook showed me a few people from my friends list it recommended I should poke... the first two were exes who I was still 'friends' on facebook with and the next two were people I was once kinda cozy with. Why I found it creepy?
Not having a dad around sometimes means that my source of technical information is now scattered. Sometimes, it's my friends and other times, its a client who likes automobiles of all kinds and we have a lot of time to chat on the way to site.
On one such site visit, my client said something about the Anti-lock breaking system in his SUV. I was curious. I didn't know what it meant so I asked him. Very patiently, he told me exactly what it was all about and promised to email an image which was meant to explain to any lady what this term meant exactly.
The next few days, I couldn't get it out of my head. Especially when I would drive my new car- the Honda Brio which, incidentally had ABS. One particular day when I was thinking about it, an idiot on the bike decided to cut across the road to the other side on an illegal crossing with absolutely no regard to who/what was coming towards him and at what speed. Unfortunately that who/what was me and I was quite fast considering it was a straight road without any turns and thoroughfare. I had to break quite hard and BAM!
Though any kind of collusion/incident had been avoided, ABS had been demonstrated to me. And I looked up to the heavens and said "Thank you god, for demonstrating to me this magical phenomenon in my car called ABS."
Sometimes, I wonder if it's not my dad up there giving me life and technical lessons while sipping from a tall cool glass of heavenly Beer or whiskey :P
